Adding Subscribers
As mentioned in the What are Subscribers article, subscribers are your stakeholders. They are the people with whom you are trying to reach in the most efficient and measurable way. Without them, your organization is likely worthless.
For some, adding subscribers is the most challenging part of getting your MessageSpring account set up and ready to use. So, we want to make sure that you have everything that you need to get your subscribers add so that you can start communicating with them via SMS, email or our MessageSpring app in their language.
You can add subscribers in multiple ways.
Adding subscribers one by one is laborious. For this reason, the one by one method should be used only when you have a new, single person who wants to subscribe and you want to do this as a service.
Hot Tip: Use this method if you're a municipality and someone calls into city hall with a general inquiry. Tell them that the city is using MessageSpring to communicate and ask their permission to add them.
This is the best way to get subscribers into your CRM en masse. If you have an existing database of your stakeholders such as a phone number or email list, you can simply drag and drop that data in CSV format into your MessageSpring dashboard. This requires that you
If you have numerous groups and a lot of subscribers, the most efficient way for you to get your subscribers imported is to create one CSV file per group. During the import, you can assign each file to one of the groups that you created in previous steps. This is why it's important to complete these steps in the order presented here.
The main limitation with this approach is that many businesses do not know the preferred language of their subscribers. For this reason, we do not support specifying language in this step. Your subscribers can always change their preferred language after they receive their first message from you.
We have a widget that is easily installed on your website. This widget makes it very simple for visitors to your website to subscribe to your MessageSpring feed.

When signed in to the MessageSpring dashboard, click on Subscriber Widget in the left hand navigation and follow the instructions on the page that is displayed.
The MessageSpring app has an Explore screen that displays all businesses in town that already have MessageSpring accounts. People with the app can click on the Explore icon and subscribe to your business via the app.
